Tips To Help Your Child Look Their Best

In an effort to help your child look their best on portrait day we have some special guidelines for you to remember.

Solid colors photograph best.  All shades of red, blue, yellow, purple and green are pleasing.  Please do not permit your child to wear solid white!  Long sleeves photograph better then short sleeves and sleeveless blouses or dresses should be avoided completely.

Try to avoid having your child's hair cut within one week of your scheduled portrait day.  Freshly cut hair especially short hair does not always lie just right.   Avoid large bows or hair ribbons and if your child has long hair do not have it pulled back tightly or have a pony tail on only one side of their head.

By following these few guidelines you should be assured of a more pleasing and natural photograph of your child.

 


Frequently Asked Questions (Proof System)

Do I need money on portrait day?
No, you will receive a proof/s to view before making a package selection.
 
What will the cost of my portraits be?
You will receive a price list with your proof/s.
 
What if my child is absent on portrait day?
In most cases there will be a portrait make-up day scheduled for your school.
 
When will the proofs be back?
Students will receive their proofs within 7-10 days.
 
What if I miss my postmark deadline?
If you miss your deadline for your child's portrait order you can do one of two things. You can mail your order to us as usual including your mailing address and a $7.00 home delivery fee. We will return it to your home in approximately 3 weeks. Or you can simply indicate your desire for a retake portrait (If the retake date has not already passed) and follow the directions printed on the back of your order form. Please remember to include your payment with your retake request. Your child will then have the opportunity to have a new portrait taken on make-up day at the original prices with no home delivery fee necessary.
 
When will the finished portraits be delivered to school?
You will have one week to decide which package/s you want. The finished packages will be delivered to the school approximately 3 weeks from the postmark deadline.
 
We were not happy with the proof we received and would like a retake.  How do I request one?
Simply indicate you would like a retake by completing the entire "Retake Request Form" on the back of your proof order form then mail it in with your payment for the package/s you would like to purchase.  Approximately one week before your schools portrait makeup day you will receive a postcard in the mail reminding you of the event.
 
Why must I prepay for my child's retake portrait sitting?
By doing so you make it possible for us to notify the school of your retake request for proper scheduling on makeup day and this is the only way we would be able to send you notification of the date as well. All portraits that are taken on makeup day are 100% guaranteed. Your money will be immediately refunded if you are not completely satisfied. 
 
I wasn't happy with my portrait order. Can I have a refund?
We are very sorry you are not happy with your portrait order. It is our intention to give everyone portraits of the highest quality. Since you ordered from a sample proof a refund is not available.  However we want you to be happy with the results and will reprint your order if it is defective.  Please feel free to contact us if there is a problem with your order we want to make sure you have been taken care of properly.

What if the student forgot their money?
All students will be photographed for memory book or file prints only. Those who forgot their money may be retaken on make-up portrait day, if their money is not delivered to the photographer on the original portrait day.
 
What if the student is absent on portrait day?
In most cases a make-up portrait day is provided for all students who were absent.
 
When can I expect my portraits back?
Portraits will be delivered approximately 10 days of portrait day.
 
I wasn't happy with my portrait order. Can I have a refund?
We are very sorry you are not happy with your portrait order. It is our intention to give everyone portraits of the highest quality. If you would like a refund on your portrait purchase please follow these instructions very carefully. Remove your classroom group photo or composite from your portraits envelope.  Class photos are not refundable. Write on the portrait envelope your name, address, phone number and the name of the school where the portrait was taken. Mail the entire package postage paid within 10 days of receipt of your portrait package to Royal Photographics Refunds, 26 West Broad St, Bethlehem PA 18018. Please allow two weeks for refund to be processed.
